Travis Hunter, the Jacksonville Jaguars rookie and former Colorado Buffaloes star, married Leanna De La Fuente, known as Leanna Lenee, in a private ceremony in Athens, Tennessee, on Saturday. The wedding, attended by family, friends, and celebrity guests including rapper Lil Wayne, was a lavish affair, highlighted by Hunter gifting Lenee a luxurious black Mercedes-Benz AMG. However, the celebration was quickly overshadowed by the resurfacing of old allegations and leaked videos that had previously cast a shadow over their relationship.
Rumours about Lenee cheating on Hunter first emerged in late 2024, when alleged videos and direct messages from 2020–2021 were posted online by DJ Akademiks. These clips purportedly showed Lenee in flirtatious conversations with an unidentified man and included footage of her twerking at a party and appearing in a man's bed, all before her relationship with Hunter became exclusive. Another video featured her in an ex-boyfriend's music video, further fuelling speculation and online trolling. The authenticity of these materials remains unverified, and their timeline predates the couple’s official relationship, aligning with Lenee’s statements that she was not yet exclusive with Hunter at the time.
Both Hunter and Lenee addressed the controversy publicly. Hunter staunchly defended his wife, dismissing the allegations as clickbait and reiterating his trust in her, stating, “I know my girl. My girl's been with me for five years”. Lenee, in a December 2024 TikTok video, clarified that she had ignored Hunter’s initial messages in 2020 because he was dating someone else, and she emphasised her stance against “home-wrecking”. She denied all cheating allegations, attributing the backlash to misinterpretations of her past and insisting that her actions had been misconstrued by critics.
Despite the persistent scrutiny and waves of online criticism, the couple remained united. Both deactivated their social media accounts in December 2024 to escape the negativity, with Lenee making her profiles private. The controversies, however, did not deter their plans, as Hunter appeared overjoyed during the wedding festivities, focusing on their future together and surprising Lenee with a grand gesture on their special day.
