The doll, notorious for being allegedly possessed and the inspiration for several horror films, was reportedly last seen in the state just before a fire broke out at the historic Nottoway Plantation. Although no injuries occurred, the timing of the fire fuelled conspiracy theories, with many online users linking the incident to Annabelle’s supposed presence in Louisiana.

As the rumour gained traction, social media platforms exploded with dramatic reactions. Posts on X (formerly Twitter) captured the anxiety, with users expressing disbelief and fear over the possibility that the haunted doll was missing.
