Marvel Studios has released an electrifying new trailer for Ironheart, the upcoming Disney+ miniseries set to premiere on June 24, 2025, with its first three episodes. The series follows Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne), a brilliant MIT student who builds her own Iron Man-inspired suit, now enhanced with magical elements, signaling a fresh fusion of technology and sorcery in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The trailer reveals that Riri’s new armor incorporates arcane symbols reminiscent of those used by Doctor Strange and Wanda Maximoff, sparking widespread speculation that Ironheart may introduce Mephisto, a long-rumored MCU villain possibly portrayed by Sacha Baron Cohen in a secret role. This magical twist marks a bold expansion of the MCU’s narrative, blending street-level heroics with cosmic and mystical themes.
Alongside her technological genius, Riri is supported by an AI hologram modeled after her late best friend Natalie. The series also introduces Parker Robbins, aka The Hood (Anthony Ramos), a villain wielding dark magic who challenges Riri’s faith in technology as the ultimate force for change. Set after the events of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Ironheart sees Riri return to her hometown of Chicago, determined to carve out her own legacy while confronting supernatural threats.
Executive producer Ryan Coogler highlights the unique mix of street-level grit and magical intrigue, describing the series as a blend of Daredevil and Doctor Strange vibes. With six episodes in total, Ironheart promises a compelling blend of sci-fi action and mystical drama, positioning Riri Williams as a new iconic hero in the MCU. The series will be available exclusively on Disney+ starting June 24, 2025.
