Brian Johnson—better known to millions as the Liver King—has once again made headlines, this time for a serious run-in with the law. The 47‑year‑old fitness social media influencer, famous for his extreme “ancestral” diet of raw organs and dramatic physique, was arrested on June 24, 2025, in Austin, Texas. Johnson faces a Class B misdemeanor charge of making a terroristic threat. Authorities say he posted a string of alarming videos on Instagram, including one in which he challenges popular podcaster and UFC commentator Joe Rogan to a physical fight. In the clip, Johnson can be heard saying, “Joe Rogan, I’m calling you out … man to man, I’m picking a fight with you,” even acknowledging he has “no training in jiu‑jitsu” while Rogan holds a black belt.
The Austin Police Department executed a warrant after Johnson arrived in town, allegedly to confront Rogan. He was detained on June 24 at approximately 7:30 p.m. and booked into Travis County Jail with bail set at $20,000. Video from his Instagram story shows him being handcuffed and placed in a police vehicle, appearing disheveled and wearing a tactical vest over a hoodie. The feud between Liver King and Rogan dates back to 2022. Rogan publicly questioned Johnson’s claims of achieving his physique naturally. Johnson later admitted he had secretly spent nearly $11,000 per month on steroids and human growth hormone—shattering the authenticity at the core of his online persona.
Followers of Johnson expressed deep concern after seeing erratic behavior in recent posts. In one Instagram clip, he was seen pacing around his home, sipping coffee, holding a screwdriver, and speaking incoherently to family members—a sequence that left many fearing for his well‑being. A polarizing figure, Liver King gained massive popularity with over 6 million TikTok followers and nearly 3 million on Instagram, thanks to his raw‐meat diet and “ancestral living” message. Yet, despite being the subject of the Netflix documentary Untold: The Liver King earlier this year, his credibility took a hit after the steroid revelations.
At present, police have not confirmed whether the arrest was directly connected to the videos targeting Rogan, but the timing and content of the posts strongly suggest a link. Johnson remains in custody pending legal proceedings. This incident adds to a troubling trend of high‑profile online figures using social media to issue threats—raising questions about accountability and mental health for internet celebrities whose personas can overshadow their private lives.
