The 77th Creative Arts Emmy Awards, held on September 6–7, 2025, at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, delivered a dazzling showcase of artistry and technical excellence in television. The night was dominated by three standout series: The Studio, The Penguin, and Severance, which racked up numerous wins across multiple disciplines.
The Studio emerged as the biggest victor of the evening, capturing a remarkable nine awards, including those for casting, contemporary costumes, and more, highlighted by Bryan Cranston’s win for Guest Actor in a Comedy and Julianne Nicholson’s Guest Actress in a Comedy award.
The Penguin, an HBO spin-off of The Batman, followed closely, taking home eight technical Emmys in categories such as prosthetic and non-prosthetic makeup, hairstyling, costumes, visual effects, and sound mixing, underscoring the meticulous work behind its gritty aesthetic. Meanwhile, Apple TV+’s Severance claimed six awards, including one for Merritt Wever’s performance as Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series, marking her third Emmy, cementing the show’s emotional and dramatic impact.
Other winners included Julie Andrews, who finally snagged her first Emmy for Outstanding Character Voice‑Over Performance as Lady Whistledown in Bridgerton after multiple nominations. Shawn Hatosy also earned a surprise win for Guest Actor in a Drama Series for his role in The Pitt.
Animated series Arcane, The Boys, and Andor also landed top prizes in their respective music, visual effects, and editing categories.
