Sony has unveiled the PS5 Ghost of Yōtei Limited Edition console bundles, drawing inspiration from traditional Japanese art and the fictional world of Ezo, now known as Hokkaido. The standout feature is the availability of two distinct variants: Gold and Black. The Gold Limited Edition is inspired by kintsugi, the Japanese art of repairing broken ceramics with lacquer and gold, symbolizing beauty in imperfection and reflecting the protagonist Atsu’s journey of healing and resilience. The Black Limited Edition, on the other hand, takes cues from Sumi-e, a traditional black ink painting style, using bold brush strokes to evoke the landmarks of Ezo and Atsu’s internal struggles.
Both bundles include a custom-designed PS5 Slim console with a disc drive and a matching DualSense Wireless Controller. The controller is adorned with a silhouette of Atsu on the touchpad, further immersing players in the game’s world. A unique touch is the maker’s seal, engraved with PlayStation symbols, found on the back of the console’s top cover and on the controller itself. This attention to detail enhances the collectible appeal of the bundles, making them highly desirable for fans and collectors alike.
In addition to the hardware, the bundle provides a digital copy of Ghost of Yōtei Standard Edition, including pre-order bonuses such as a unique in-game mask and seven PlayStation Network avatars featuring Atsu and the Yōtei Six. These digital extras allow players to personalize their gaming experience and showcase their connection to the game’s characters and themes. The bundles are set to launch globally on October 2, coinciding with the game’s release date.
For those who already own a PS5 Slim or PS5 Pro, Sony will also offer separate console covers featuring the same Gold and Black designs, as well as the special DualSense controller as a standalone purchase. This ensures that even existing PS5 owners can partake in the Ghost of Yōtei aesthetic without needing to buy an entirely new console.
